A must read for all Christians.

I consider Terry Law to be a pioneer of contemporary Christian worship. His book, The Power of Praise and Worship, was written almost 15 years ago, yet it captures the essence of praise and worship for today's Church (the Body of Christ, or all believers). At first reading, I was surprised to find very little mention of music in the book's early chapters. I soon realized, however, that Mr. Law was laying a solid foundation for his beliefs about the power of praise and worship. In fact, he lays a solid foundation for the Christian faith. In this book, he sheds new light on the use of praise and worship as a tool to receive God's blessings and to win victory over the flesh and all forms of evil. Venturing into the arena of spiritual warfare, Mr. Law wields the power of three key weapons: The Word, The Name, and The Blood. He explains the power and authority that all Christians possess through The Word (Scripture), The Name of Jesus (God), and His Blood (Jesus'). Incorporating these spiritual weapons in the Church's praise and worship is essential. Mr. Law brings this truth to life in the latter chapters of this book, explaining that the power is in the weapons and that praise is the launching rocket! Although these truths were not new to me - and they probably aren't new to many Christians - my spirit was refreshed by the reminder. Your's will be, too.
The Power of Praise and Worship is a must read for the person who desires to have victory, prosperity, and joy in this life. The book is written in plain English and is, therefore, easy to read. I have never been an avid reader, but I could not put this book down. I am telling my family and friends about it...and now I want to share it with you.

This book was used by God to show me how very much He desires for us to enter in His Presence. I was changed and transformed into a person of sincere worship. God longs for a personal relationship with His children, this book covers miracle working power through praise in as much as renewal through worship. This is an excellent book about praise and worship

I thoroughly enjoyed Terry Law's book on "The Power of Praise and Worship." This book speaks volumes to the individual who desires a closer walk with the Lord, and who longs to enter into his gates with joy and thanksgiving.
I believe that we should definitely be in a state of praise and worship at all times even if we are praising God inside ourselves and conducting our own church service within our hearts. Terrry Law digs a bit deeper by demonstrating some biblical examples in which praise and worship made all of the difference.
I highly recommend this book to any Christian who seeks to build upon his or her prayer life and who desire a more intimacy with the Lord in terms of feeling his presence and love all around. Though some of us may feel that the feeling of security and holiness is something that can only be felt in a church . . . I can assure you that once you are in the privacy of your own home with your arms stretched up and just thanking God for just another day. The power of praise will flow like a river all of the that our Father has done for us. This book is an excellent way to understand just how praise and worship can ACTUALLY LIFT up the spirit of heaviness, depression, and self-pity.
This book is a must read. I highly recommend this book along with Franklin Hall's "The Fasting Prayer." If you really want to feel God's presence go on a selected fast and prayer experience in which you mix fasting, prayer, and praise. The heavens will open and God will show you what to do and how to do it. Read this book it has some interesting points!

Scars by Lynley Wayne

Scars is a story about a man who needs to learn how to deal with his internal and external scars and of the man who will help him doing so. This is the main focus of the novel and the target is completely achieved, the narration of Jace's PTSD is good and realistic, with the right dose of emotion without trying to exploit the drama to make them more sensational. As the author says in the preface, she researched a lot and is near people who went through the same attacks, and you can say that from the way she described them.

Lynley Wayne is someone who apparently writes about things she know or experimented, and considering her other book is about a LGBT family, I have the feeling she experienced that is possible to build such family, maybe with some difficulties, but not impossible. Also in Scars there are various developments of the concept of LGBT family: Jace will have the chance to confront his own family with the reality of him being in a relationship with another man, will they accept his partner or not? The love they clearly have for their son will be corrupted by this news? And the same Jace, who had never once considered the possibility to be gay, will be able to accept to be in love with another man? To not give out too much of the story, I will not go further, but there are even more deployments of the concept of family in the story, more or less all of them with a positive insight.

So yes, while the story's incipit is dramatic, the development is positive, always with a good perspective, always with a light at the end of the tunnel. It's not an easy path for Jace, but Nicholas is near him, leading him through the nightmares, helping, but above all giving him a reason to fight. I liked this side of the story, even if someone else could think it was too positive: as I said, I have the feeling the author experimented that reality is possible, or at the minimum, she strongly believes it possible.

If I have to find something that didn't ring right to me, it was in Nicholas's past, a 13 years old runaway that 6 years later is still innocent and naïve; unfortunately, too often we see that in such occurrences, young boys are used and abused, sometime even by the system that should protect them. 6 years on the streets is a long time, and for how much I would like for Nicholas to be able to preserve his innocence, I highly doubted it. But probably the author didn't want to charge too much drama into the story, and considering Jace had already a lot of burden to go through, she wanted for Nicholas to be a more steady figure, someone who could give love, patience, comfort.

Just a start

I truly believe that Scars is just the beginning for a wonderful author. As I began reading I really lost the male/male genre and found myself reading a love story. My recommendation for people is to look past the genre and read a wonderful romance. I think there are great things to come and I am ready to read the next book!!

Bushong's book excellent for a whole range of people who want to understand the fundamentals of MRI

Magnetic Resonance Imaging: Physical and Biological Principles

This book is remarkable in the way that it explains the fundamentals of MRI so clearly while using very, very few equations. Prof. Bushong uses a huge number of tremendously creative -- and often funny -- illustrations to achieve this accomplishment. Although this book is naturally insufficient for those desiring a fully mathematical understanding of MRI, it is ideal (except for its lack of discussion of Functional MRI) for those who want a firm visual understanding of MRI physics, and it is also one of those rare books that explains so many practical details of *actually using* MRI machines -- their possible dimensions, strength, weight, associated costs, associated building requirements, etc. It could also be a great first read for those who will eventually delve into the subject mathematically, and finally, could be an excellent book for a physician, nurse, businessperson, or layperson who won't have to directly deal with MRI but who wants to have a solid grasp of how it works. I strongly recommend this book!

This edition is far superior to the first. Descriptions of pulse sequences are easily understood and the diagrams are very useful. Folks that like Peggy Woodwards' book will find this one very similar.
It's worth the price for technologists studying for the national registry or just looking for a better understanding of MRI

This book makes the complex understandable!!!!

This text is the third MRI book I have approached. I spent a week on the first chapters of others, esp the supposed "Bible" of MRI, written by the two women. I wish I had not wasted my money on their new book. I was wondering if applying to MRI school was a mistake. Bushong's book is put together so that

anyone can understand the complex physics involved. You "get it" on the first read. That is wonderful by me.

"Missing Link" Found

In the tradition of LeCron and Cheek (_Clinical Hypnotherapy_), here is a book authored by an MD and a psychologist. It is a "how-to" manual that describes the techniques taught in the LeCron-Cheek Hypnosis Symposia in the 1960s. Dr. Dabney Ewin wrote the foreword to Dr. Cheek's _Hypnosis: The Application of Ideomotor Techniques_ and his remarkable work with hypnosis on burn patients is noted therein and elsewhere.

This book provides the missing link between learning/knowing about ideomotor hypnoanalysis and actually practicing it. No one book can say it all, but this one, in combination with the others mentioned above (with the Rossi-Cheek book thrown in for good measure) offers you the tools to do rapid medical and clinical hypnotherapy.

2014: This therapy is intuitive. I know that some hypnotherapists look down at intuitive hypnotherapy as being unscientific, but here are examples of extremely intuitive interaction, and that is what makes the difference. Of course, if you are an atheist and/or are communicating with someone who does not believe in God, then it goes without saying that you will need other arguments that are authentic for you as the therapist and that resonate with the patient.

I don't usually read a hypnosis book from cover to cover but I did this one. I'm a practical hypnotherapist of 28 years who still likes to be shown how to do things. This book does that in a very straight forward manner. Hypnoanalysis using ideomotor movements is an intriguing and extremely useful hypnotic method. I appreciate the author's willingness to show us how to use it. I've used it in the past but will certainly be better at it having read this book.

Great for auditory learning!

My (homeschooled) daughter uses "Story of the World" for history this year in 3rd grade. She listens to these cds after she reads the chapter. I think it is a great way to get the information into her mind via another method besides reading. The reader does a good job, it is easy to listen to, and very interesting.
