Exellent Book

It is hard to believe that with over one thousand years of occupation and colonization by the Han, Viet Nam is still an independent country. It's language, culture, religion, location are a few reasons that helped the Vietnamese in the past stood up and successfully against the occupiers. This book contains useful details to explain why many small states in southern China were Hanized and became a part of China except Viet Nam. I recommend every Vietnamese should read this book.

Nhờ đâu dân tộc Việt vẫn còn sau ngàn năm Bắc thuộc?

Sau hơn một ngàn năm Bắc thuộc, dân tộc Việt không biến thành người Trung Quốc. Trong cùng thời gian đó, các đế quốc Hán, Đường bành trướng, mở rộng gấp bốn lần. Quá trình đồng hóa mà Mạnh Tử gọi là "Dụng Hạ Biến Di" đã thành công; những sắc dân sống ở Hoa Nam nay đều tự nhận họ là gười Trung Hoa cả; mặc dù về chủng tộc, ngôn ngữ, họ vốn khác người phương Bắc mà có nhiều nét tương đồng hơn với các sắc tộc miền Đông Nam Á. Riêng dân tộc Việt Nam vẫn đứng riêng, dựng lên một quốc gia độc lập.

Hiện tượng văn hóa quan trọng nhất trong ngàn năm Bắc thuộc không phải là việc người Việt Nam học hỏi nền văn minh Trung Hoa. Nhiều dân tộc ở Á Đông cũng đều dùng chữ Hán, đều tổ chức đời sống đạo lý và chính trị theo khuôn mẫu Khổng Giáo, mặc dù họ không hề bị người Hán đô hộ. Điều đáng kể nhất trong thời Bắc thuộc là hiện tượng các di dân người Hoa sau nhiều thế hệ đã dần dần biến thành người Việt, nhiều người đã góp phần xây dựng văn hóa, tranh đấu và bảo vệ nền tự chủ của dân tộc Việt Nam.

This book is very enlightening! I've always been the type to call myself somewhat of a "conspiracy theorists" . I've always been fascinated with the world we live in. We go through everyday life basking in the glory of celebrities, sports, social networks, & materialistic items which brings us nothing but distractions. This book really sharpened the saw of knowledge in my mind to the true "LIGHT" of America. Our people of this generation are subliminally blinded to the truth. I encourage everyone to open your minds. Blinded by lies will only create an illusion of false sense of all. Open up to the truth and spread the word. The world we now live in is slowly but surely changing for the worst. As people there isn't anything my brother nor sister can do but leave it up to God. I encourage everyone to get their life's right with the man above because we are at war with the evil. This book is a must download for everyone.

It was enlightening to see the order of events showing how hip hop has invaded our culture. To see the dark side of it is important. Even though the author is not sophisticated in her writing style, she is real in her sincerity and personal observations. This stuff is well worth knowing.

Dr. Chang's original version of this book was one of my texts when I first began to study acupuncture. It never failed to guide me easily & give me confidence. I had no idea how he could have improved on it, but this book is also excellent. If I could have no other book on acupuncture, this would be the one for me.
